Course Outcomes:

Health and safety requirements when operating tractors
NZ road rules & regulations
Hazard identification and control measures
Reporting and/or recording accidents or near misses
Identify legal requirements for tractor use
Identification of standard controls and functions
Safe control of tractors and how to manoeuvre in different scenarios
Maneuvering of tractor with mounted and trailed attachments
Safe practice when using attachments, trailers, and the PTO
Practice in using front end loaders and understanding of how stability changes during their use
General maintenance on machines
Attach and detach 3-point mounted power take off driven implement
Operate a tractor and implements on flat terrain to complete tasks e.g. raking and mulching
Understand factors that affect tractor stability and dynamics, and how it can change with attached implements and tasks
Operate a tractor power take off driven implement
Mount and dismount safely
Competently perform checking of the lubrication, cooling and air intake of the engine, perform basic lubrication of the tractor, and ensure the tractor is in a safe road going state

Course Details

Fees: $1399 GST inclusive per person

Mode: Short theory module & practical training.

Suitable for: New & inexperienced operators

Duration: 3 Days, 8:30am-4pm

Equipment required: Sensible clothing for all-weather training, steel capped boots.

Travel: Please note that travel costs to the designated training venue (outside of a 50km radius from our base) will be charged at $1 GST inclusive per kilometre.
